About Me

What am I all about?

I am from the West Midlands, UK. I have always had a passion for nature however big or small which then inspired me to study wildlife further, while my customer service background has allowed me to create memorable experiences, demonstrated during special events like Christenings, where i connect people with each other and not just connecting people to wildlife. My wildlife journey transformed during my first solo trip to Scotland when I realised the importance of capturing those fleeting moments in nature.

The Cairngorms National Park in Scotland is truly my favourite place in the UK. Its diverse and occasionally challenging weather create the perfect environment for a rich array of Scotland's wildlife to thrive.

My Favourite Animal Captured on Camera

The Pine Marten known for its elusive nature and striking appearance. With its rich golden-brown fur, this small mammal often goes unnoticed in the forests it calls home and making a chance encounter all the more remarkable. Capturing one on camera is a rare delight, showcasing the beauty of wildlife that often goes unnoticed. Whether a nature enthusiast or a casual observer, the Pine Marten offers a glimpse into the enchanting world of forest life.

My favourite animal is the Snow leopard and it would be incredible to film these in the wild but my favourite bird  has to be the osprey. They are a summer migrant here in the UK and winter over in Africa and southern Europe. It is always very special to witness them hover, glide and even dive to try to catch fish. Try is the key word as they don't always get it right to witness them never gets old a truly stunning bird pf prey.

Why Wildlife Photography?

Nature has always held a special place in my heart, inspiring me from a young age to explore its beauty through photography. This passion allows me to merge my love for the outdoors with my desire to capture breathtaking moments. Whether I'm in a remote location or witnessing an extraordinary sight, my camera is always ready to document and share these incredible experiences. Even being born with a club doesn't stop me from pursuing my passion.

There are many good things about Being out in the field, surrounded by the beauty of nature big and small, brings me immense joy. I thrive in remote locations, capturing the essence of wildlife, especially bids with my favourite bird of prey, the Osprey. My passion for both mammals and birds drives me to explore various areas across the UK, where every moment spent in nature is truly rewarding. I am dedicated to my goals, whether it's capturing the image or witnessing nature. Ticking off  on my bird guide isn’t just a thrill; it ignites my desire to uncover even more of nature's treasures.

While there so many good points there are also the negatives, forgetting to charge batteries, power banks etc as well as organising my bag to not taking out enough layers for the cold days venturing out, not forgetting that  carrying all the equipment can be struggle, even when  especially when I’m away from my family. The ever-changing weather and long treks add to the challenge, yet these experiences truly make the adventure memorable.

Whats best?

Whats worse?

Equipment I take

When i am out in the field there is quite a lot of equipment i do take with me depending on location the first thing that I pick up and what I would say is the most essential are my Opticron 8x42 VGA binnoculours which were kindly given to me these really do make my job of capturing wildlife with my camera so much easier.  Prior to February 2025 I had a Panasonic bridge camera but I now use a Canon with a Telephoto lens which enables me to get up close to far away subjects and for Portraits, macro and scenery I use a 50 mm and alongside this i would sometimes use a trail cam alllowing me to capture wildlife at night depending on where i am but do need to use it more than I actually do.
